shallum scanning beanbag_0Last week saw the team head up north for a jam-packed few days at the annual PMG conference.

Armed with our brand new catalogues and an endless supply of chocolates, we set up shop at the University of Leeds where hundreds of delegates were attending lectures and seminars on the posture and mobility needs of wheelchair users.

It was a fantastic turnout for PMG and we were so pleased with the positive feedback we received on many of our products, in particular, the Free Form backrest, which caught a lot of people’s attention.

We also received great feedback on Shallum’s poster presentation which highlighted his study on pressure mapping and different types of foam cushions.

One of the main highlights of the event was our Scan Your Bum & Win A Sum competition which was a fantastic chance to demonstrate our vacuum moulding beanbags and scanning technology. To enter, delegates had to sit on the beanbag in order to capture their shape – offering them a chance to see how it works and also how it feels to be moulded. Many participants commented that it was great to be able to experience what many of their patients experience.

The overall winner was announced just before the final seminar on Wednesday over the tannoy speakers – although the speaker did think we were playing a practical joke on him at first! Sarah, an OT from Coventry Wheelchair Services won the prize, which consisted of a £50 voucher to spend at John Lewis and a Custom Contoured Seat Cushion, which is now with Ronnie the Robot and ready to be carved!

We would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit our stand over the course of the two days – it was lovely to speak to so many people and catch up with old friends and new.

Now it’s time to start preparing for PMG 2016!

PMG’s annual conference provides an educational programme, industry exhibition and networking events for delegates. The majority of delegates are Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Rehabilitation Engineers and Clinical Scientists working within the NHS wheelchair services or for manufacturers/distributors of posture and mobility products; with a smaller but significant number working in the charitable sector or independently.

PMG 2016 will be held in Birmingham – keep an eye on our Exhibitions Page for more info.
